Apart from regular branch meetings and socials, we also organise other ways of having fun and drinking beer. Recent events have included pub crawls, visits to breweries, Treasure Hunts (actually that's just a pub crawl by another name), working at or visiting beer festivals, surveying pubs for the Good Beer Guide, a bowling match, a Beer and Curry night, a ramble (yes, another name for a pub crawl) and even a lecture on Old Pubs and Taverns of Salford (a sort of virtual pub crawl really).

Non-members are welcome at most of our events and meetings. Come along, enjoy a few drinks with us, and tell us what you think of the pubs in your part of the world! But get in touch with us first, so we'll know who to look out for. (Contrary to popular opinion, it's not that easy to spot CAMRA members in a pub, although it's fair to say we're unlikely to be the ones drinking Miller Lite from the bottle.)

May 2008
Saturday	3rd	National Mild Day Crawl - Meet at the Marble Arch on Rochdale Road at 12 noon. We will then be following an itinerary devised by the redoubtable Pete Cash, taking in every outlet for Mild Ale in Manchester city centre and the eastern part of Salford. On past performance we are likely to visit around a dozen pubs and sample a score of different beers, so halves will be the order of the day! Depending on the beer and the weather, we will probably finish up in the Crescent, The Crescent, Salford, around 7 p.m. More details will be posted in due course.
Wednesday	7th	Two Pub Social - 8 p.m. at the Racecourse, Littleton Road, Lower Kersal; 9.30 p.m. at the Unicorn, Broughton Road, Pendleton.
Wednesday	14th	Peel Green & Patricroft Crawl - 7.30 p.m. at the Grapes Hotel, Liverpool Road; 8.15 p.m. at the Bird in Hand; 8.45 p.m. at the Stanley Arms, Liverpool Road; then the Bridgewater; finishing in the White Lion around 9.30 p.m.
Wednesday	21st	Branch Meeting and AGM - 8.00 p.m. prompt at the New Oxford, Bexley Square, Salford. Please note that we may have to change the date of this meeting on account of some kickball match - watch this space!
Wednesday	28th	Continental Beer Crawl - 7.30 p.m. at the Sand Bar, Grosvenor Street (off Oxford Road, near Manchester University); 9.00 p.m. at the Kro Piccadilly; finish off at Bar Fringe.
June 2008
Wednesday	4th	Allgates Brewery Visit - Advance booking necessary, and there's a charge of £10 too. Get there by train or bus. Please book in advance for this visit via our Social Secretary, Phil Booton - telephone 0161 957 7148.

Some of the pubs we visit can be difficult to find, so the street names include a link to the very wonderful Streetmap.co.uk.

You can also use the North West Journey Planner for bus, train and tram times. The GMPTE site also has a Bus Timetable Library where you can download individual route timetables.

And while you're on the Internet, you can even check if your train is on time. The National Rail website gives details of any problems on the national network. And the Northern Rail website can tell you how trains are running from your local station.
